Apartment 11’s New Math Series Look Kool Premieres August 28th During TVOKids Online Sneak Peek Week

Have your kids ever wondered why bubbles are always round or why so many musical instruments are made of cylinders? With back to school on the horizon, kids can brush up on their geometry skills and get the answers with LOOK KOOL. An educational children’s series targeting kids aged six to nine, LOOK KOOL teaches math using skits, cartoons, and 3D special effects.

In this new live-action series, the hilarious host Hamza and his mischievous robot cat show viewers how geometry is found in the world around us, from roller coasters to Frisbees and bicycles to ice cream cones. Real kids help Hamza solve a mathematical mystery in each episode, stemming from questions such as, “How can you make your bike more aerodynamic?”

Filmed in Montreal and Ontario by Apartment 11 Productions, the 16 x 30-minute episodes of LOOK KOOL engage young audiences with fascinating discoveries, helping them to learn about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics), core skills that build a solid foundation for inside and outside the classroom.

Kids can get a sneak peek of LOOK KOOL on tvokids.com on Friday, August 28 during TVOKids’ online Sneak Peek Week beginning August 24; the series makes its TV debut on Friday, September 4 at 5:30 pm (ET) during TVOKids’ On-Air Sneak Peek Week starting August 31. LOOK KOOL settles into its regular timeslots each Friday at 5:00 pm (ET) with repeats on Saturdays at 12:00 pm (ET) and Sundays at 10:30 am (ET). After each TV broadcast viewers can visit the LOOK KOOL website for videos, downloadable activities and games at http://www.tvokids.com/games/lookkool.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with TVO to offer an entertaining and educational series to a young audience. Kids can have fun while deepening their knowledge of geometry in a way that is difficult to reproduce in a scholastic context,” says Jonathan Finkelstein, President of Apartment 11 and the show’s Executive Producer.

“TVOKids is all about learning in a fun way with content based on the Ontario school curriculum,” said Marney Malabar, Director, Kids TV, TVO. “The series does a great job of bringing geometry to life and helping kids develop essential STEAM skills that empower them to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.”

LOOK KOOL is co-produced with TVO with the support of the Shaw Rocket Fund, CMF and the Bell Fund. 9 Story Media Group will be distributing the series internationally. Jonathan Finkelstein is the series Executive Producer and Jean-Louis Coté and Brenda Nietupski are the Producers.
