Victoria Duffield is the Musical Treasure at the End of TV’s Cross Country Fun Hunt!
Singer Victoria Duffield is ready to put the fun in Fun Hunt. The Canadian artist is poised to sing and dance the night away for the winner of CBC’s Cross Country Fun Hunt, currently airing on Saturdays on CBC Television. Youth can bring Victoria home by telling the world what makes their community fun at cbc.ca/kids/funhunt.
Victoria’s performance, the grand prize for the ongoing interactive contest, was announced today. The Warner Music recording artist released her debut album, Shut Up and Dance, this summer.
Cross Country Fun Hunt is an interactive TV series, hosted by Jordan Francis (Camp Rock), in which Canadian kids are being asked to crown the “most fun” destination in Canada at cbc.ca/kids/funhunt. Francis will perform along with Duffield at the grand prize concert – on the winner’s home turf. The special will air on the CBC in March
Canadian kids from coast to coast are encouraged to upload video and photos of a fun location in their community. All submissions have a chance of winning an online vote in December, in which fans will choose the most-fun spot in Canada.
The stakes just got higher with the news that the B.C.-born Victoria will perform at the special concert.
A quadruple-threat talent, Victoria is an accomplished singer, songwriter, dancer and actor. Duffield’s debut album, Shut Up and Dance, features the chart-topping title track, “Feel,” and her latest single “Break My Heart.” Her next single will be “They Don’t Know About Us” with Australian pop sensation Cody Simpson.
Shut Up and Dance achieved platinum-status and reached the top spot on the MuchMusic countdown. The video earned Victoria her first MuchMusic Video Award nomination for Pop Video of the Year.
Cross Country Fun Hunt , hosted by Canadian celebrity Jordan Francis, airs Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. PT, 10 a.m. in Newfoundland).
During the TV run, kids can also enter secret codes from the TV episodes to win one of five trips to the Fun Hunt concert. Those who enter before Oct. 31 are also eligible to win an iPod touch. In December, fans will vote on the top fun spot, earning one child – and their community – the special concert.
The vote opens immediately after episode 12 airs on Saturday December 1st – 20 destinations will be nominated. Then, on Wednesday December 5th, the top 10 vote-getters will be revealed and a new round of voting will begin. Finally, on Monday December 10th the top 3 destinations will be announced and a final round of voting will take place. The winning concert destination (and most fun place in Canada) will be declared on Saturday December 15th.
